Last night’s third audition show already saw the judges thinking about their categories, with Cheryl hoping to have youngster Cher in hers. With the judges’ houses stages of filming now complete, the judges all now know which categories they have the acts they’ll be taking through to the live finals.

In a shock twist, Louis doesn’t have the groups this year, instead he will be mentoring the ‘new’ Over 28s category. He was joined by former X Factor judge Sharon Osborune in Ireland last week where he picked his final three acts for the live shows. We’ve been told that Ireland’s Mary Byrne was spotted at the location Louis was using for filming, but has she made it into the live shows?

After taking the girls to third place last year, Dannii this year will do battle with last year’s winning category, the boys. Guest judge and fellow Aussie Natalie Imbruglia joined her for judges’ houses in Australia yesterday. Some of the talent in Dannii’s category we’ve been tipped off about include Manchester auditionee Aiden Grimshaw.

Initially rumoured to be mentoring the girls this year, Simon instead is taking on the toughest of the categories – the groups. Sinitta joined Cowell to film judges’ house in Spain early last week where 8 groups – two of which we exclusively revealed were formed at bootcamp – battled it out for a place in the live shows.

Finally Cheryl, who is said to have filmed her judges’ houses a few weeks ago in LA, is mentoring the girls for the second time in her three years on the programme. The Girls Aloud singer has the likes of Katie Waissel, Cher and blue haired rocker Kirsty Crawford in her final 8 – but will any of them make Cheryl’s top 3?

The judges’ houses stage of the competition is due to be broadcast on Saturday October 2 and Sunday October 3.

Cheryl Cole blocked out her divorce proceedings yesterday, by shooting a music video for her newest single.

As the case to dissolve her and Ashley Cole’s marriage was being heard in London’s High Court, the X Factor judge was working on the video for ‘Promise This,’ the first single from her second solo album.

A staff member told The Sun that no one mentioned her personal troubles on set. They revealed:

“Everyone was briefed before she arrived that they weren’t to hassle her.

“Obviously she’s going through a difficult time right now and the main thing for her is just getting her work done without any bother. Read full article.

Cheryl Cole has spoken of her joy that her marriage will finally end today, saying: “Thank God the nightmare is over”.

The Girls Aloud star is said to be relieved to have achieved a “divorce with dignity”.

A pal said: “It’s been a horrible few months for her, but at last she can look forward to the future.

“She feels like a massive weight has been lifted off her shoulders. She thinks it’s sad the way things have turned out, but life goes on.”

Neither Cheryl, 27, nor Chelsea left-back Ashley, 27, are expected to be present when their four-year marriage is officially declared over at the High Court in London today. Read full article.

I’m yet to hear it but the savvy star has made all the right moves for it to be a hit.

Knob-twiddler WAYNE WILKINS, who produced Cheryl‘s No1-selling debut solo single Fight For This Love last year, is behind the new release.

And the video, scheduled to be filmed later this week, is with major director SOPHIE MULLER, who has the likes of BEYONCE, COLDPLAY, GWEN STEFANI and KINGS OF LEON on her CV.

And loveable Cheryl is set to complete her comeback by performing the up-tempo single for the first time on The X Factor’s live shows in October.

I’m told the Lady Gaga-like tune is a certain No.1 after becoming an instant hit with radio station bigwigs.

Seeing as I’ve not heard it yet I can only imagine what the lyrics are.
