Cheryl and Will worked together on her debut album, 3 Words and have made no secret of the fact they’d like to continue working with one another.

Black Eyed Peas star Will.i.am, 35, chartered a helicopter from the World Music Awards in Monte Carlo to nearby Cannes – just so he’d be in time to catch her solo set.

He was determined to be there for Cheryl’s 1am performance at the Eden Roc resort on Tuesday– and he took us along for the ride.

Sidling up to us at 10pm, Will grinned: “Hey girls, Cheryl is singing tonight. I’ve got to get to her so I’m going to meet her halfway and go to her gig. Will you come? I’ve got to support my girl.

Alex’s former X Factor mentor is currently on tour with the Black Eyed Peas and there have been several rumours that Will (who has openly revealed he has a crush on Cole) is getting romantically close to the ‘3 Words‘ singer.

Burke however doesn’t believe there’s anything going on. She says: “I think Cheryl and Will.i.am are just friends. He’s a producer and she has songs with him.

“There’s been so much stuff written about Cheryl‘s private life so hats off to her for getting on with work,” the ‘Bad Boys’ star told the Daily Star. “At the end of the day when you see her on stage she gives it everything and all that’s put behind her.”

CHERYL Cole was left “charmed” last night after rumoured beau Will.i.am shocked members of a chat show audience by offering to pay off their mortgages.

The Black Eyed Peas star, 35, made the gesture after hearing some were nearing financial ruin on the US Oprah Winfrey show.

Earlier, the singer took a tour of his childhood home in LA where he grew up with his mother Debra.
