Oh yes, it’s like all the things our Irish, boyband-loving dreams were made of. In fact, our 15-year-old selves did a little jig when we saw it happen before our eyes. That’s right, Boyzone and Westlife have finally teamed up – and it was all for a very emotional tribute to Stephen Gately.

Joking about whether their super group should be called “Westzone” or “Boyzlife”, Ronan told us he found the day of rehearsals and reminiscing “very emotionally draining” but knew Stephen was looking down on them while they recorded their ITV1 special.

Nadine Coyle also joined the lads on stage (in a very boobalicious dress) for a version of Love Me For A Reason and Mika collaborated with them for Gave It All Away while Stephen’s sister, Michelle and husband, Andy, watched on. Despite it being an emotional night, Mikey, Ronan, Keith and Shane sounded great, singing live for the studio full of their fans.

Cheryl Cole and her husband Ashley have spent much of the last two weeks living apart, after the singer decided to move into a London hotel.

They did not reunite yesterday for Valentine’s Day, as footballer Cole was laid up at their Surrey home with an ankle injury and his wife was working in the capital.

The couple’s marriage has come under increasing strain after revelations that naked photographs of Ashley were sent to a topless model.

Since the news broke last week, Cheryl, 26, has been staying at Kensington’s Baglioni Hotel rather than their home.

Her publicist insisted she was merely using the room as a base for a promotional tour of Europe. But her home is actually much closer to Heathrow airport, from where she has flown to the Continent several times in the past fortnight. Read full article.

THE Sun’s Helping Haiti single was finished late on Saturday night – and it’s a cracker.

Mogul SIMON COWELL spearheaded the globe-spanning project which features 21 of the planet’s premier pop stars – and he gave me an exclusive listen early on Sunday.

The likes of KYLIE MINOGUE, MARIAH CAREY, JAMES BLUNT and ALEXANDRA BURKE all donated their time for free to record a cover of REM’s moving Everybody Hurts.

And the results are impressive.

The effort has got the support of songwriter MICHAEL STIPE who said: “How could we not say yes to this appeal?

The X Factor judge squeezed in a recording session for a charity single to raise money for the victims of the Haiti earthquake.

A day earlier she was appearing at a music awards ceremony in Germany, where her rather outrageous catsuit raised eyebrows.
