Newly single Cheryl Cole will make her festival debut as a solo artist this summer at the V Festival.

The singer, who last week announced her split from husband Ashley Cole, performed at the festival two years ago as part of Girls Aloud.

But she will go it alone this year as she continues her successful solo career.

Cole will have the chance to get used to performing to large audiences prior to the August event as she supports The Black Eyed Peas on their European tour.

Cheryl Cole scored another point in the ongoing style battle with fellow X Factor judge Dannii Minogue last night.

With her hair swept back and her curves poured into a bang-on-trend tight knitted dress, she looked flawless as she left a West London venue wearing a big smile.

She wore minimal make-up and nude peep-toed heels, leaving all emphasis on the stunning winter dress at the May Fair Hotel.

She finished off the simple outfit with flower-shaped diamond earrings and a chunky watch. But her ring finger was missing the massive rock of a wedding ring – although it’s more than likely she removed it out of fear of snagging her dress.

Cheryl Cole was heavily-criticised for the bizarre fan-style dress she wore during the X Factor live shows at the weekend.

However R&B singer Beyonce gave it her seal of approval last night by donning a remarkably similar dress to collect her award for Best Song at the MTV Europe Music Awards.

The 28-year-old looked stunning as she took to the stage in the dress which features metal piping snaking across the bodice.

Last weekend Cheryl, 26, caused a stir when she donned the £1,500 black and silver concoction by up-and-coming designer David Koma.

Some commented after the show that it looked like rubbish-bin lids, others said the piping looked more like hubcaps or piano keys. Read full article.
