Love her or loathe her, Cheryl Cole is creating a lasting impression – on sales of hairspray. The fortunes of the hair grooming product, long blighted by its association with less than chi-chi salons and its environmental impact, has been reversed – and Cole’s “big hair” is being credited. Beauty experts say Cole, who returned to TV screens last night as an X Factor judge, is the biggest single reason hairspray has soared in popularity. Hairdressers also credit scientific advances that have improved the product and overhauled its old helmet-head image. Mark Hill, the celebrity hairdresser who styles Agyness Deyn and Mischa Barton, said: “Hairspray is now much better to use. It gives great hold and can be easily brushed out. It can also be used for a variety of styles. “In the late 1990s and early 2000s, there was a return to more natural products, and people tried to use less hairspray as they thought of the ozone layer. However, in recent years, there has been a complete return to glamour, and the trend for big, bouncy hair has meant that hairspray is now an essential again.” Read full article. |

The run-up to the release of Nadine Coyle‘s solo album, solo single, solo ANYTHING has been so drawn-out and fraught with panic that it makes The Wanted’s now legendary single campaign look like a whimsical three-day jaunt. We heard one of her demos several months ago and it was – we’ll be honest here readers – bloody boring, but under the expert guidance of manager ‘Big Apple Bruce’ she’s been in enough studios with enough producers and enough writers for enough time to have either accidentally sung the entire works of Shakespeare or, hopefully, taken her musical endeavours in a rather different direction. In fact, as if by magic (or ‘Nadgic’ – we’re talking about Nadine here hahahaha) here’s some information from the Popjustice forums.
So there you go. Source: Popjustice |

NADINE COYLE’s been found in LA… playing computer games. The GIRLS ALOUD singer has had little contact with her bandmates during their 12-month break.
But yesterday she attended the unveiling of the Kinect motion-sensing device for Xbox 360, joining stars including JACK OSBOURNE and RYAN PHILLIPPE on the red carpet. The Irish singer looked in top shape in a short colourful dress which showed off her famous pins. Bandmate NICOLA ROBERTS insisted recently there was “no feud” between Nadine and the rest of the girls. Read full article. |

There’s something about being known as the nation’s sweetheart that makes Cheryl Cole seem like a modern-day Dame Vera Lynn. You imagine white cliffs, bluebirds and a soppy sentimentality (helped by her now characteristic blubbing on The X Factor), all to cheer up the nation in troubled times. And, of course, we feel that in adoring Cheryl, we’re rescuing her right back — the poor, wronged woman who has remained dignified and outwardly cheery throughout her very public heartbreak. Which goes to make her bombshell entrance at a north London studio for this photoshoot all the more unexpected. The gal’s a total knockout. And Ashley Cole is an idiot — officially. She’s clad in a white T-shirt, a striped APC blazer, stacked Stella McCartney wedges and micro blue shorts that reveal legs so toned and perfect (and, yes, cellulite free) that your eyes follow them round mesmerically while your brain registers simple disbelief. Her hair is scrunched back and her face devoid of make-up (that Cheryl mask of big hair, dark lips and smoky eye will come later), which, she volunteers, makes her look about 10 years old. It also clarifies that she really is a fine-featured beauty, the sort who deserves to front beauty campaigns such as her current run with L’Oréal Paris. Read full article. |

Mariah Carey is taking on Cheryl Cole to secure herself a place on the US X Factor judging panel next to Simon Cowell. The pop diva is in the running for a hot seat on the show according to Cowell’s best friend Sinitta who spilled the beans to the Daily Mail. There have been many big names rumoured to be in the pipeline to take their place next to the pop mogul on his new American show. It was recently rumoured that Cat Deeley had been offered a place on X Factor after her success on other popular American TV shows. However, she has confirmed that there is no truth in the rumours saying: ‘I don’t know a thing about it, not a thing.’ Read full article. |

Newly single Cheryl Cole will make her festival debut as a solo artist this summer at the V Festival. The singer, who last week announced her split from husband Ashley Cole, performed at the festival two years ago as part of Girls Aloud. But she will go it alone this year as she continues her successful solo career. Cole will have the chance to get used to performing to large audiences prior to the August event as she supports The Black Eyed Peas on their European tour. CAST your minds back a year when GIRLS ALOUD decided to take a break. The five members announced they would be taking 12 months off to do their own thing.
We all know what CHERYL COLE did – nothing short of achieving world domination thanks to The X Factor. What has gone unnoticed is NADINE COYLE‘s failed bid for solo stardom. I’ve discovered that the Northern Irish lass – considered to have the best voice in the band – has failed to land a record deal. Read full article. |

Millions of records sold and millions in the bank, star-studded parties, celeb boyfriends…The life of a Girls Aloud star must be a blast. But you won’t find Kimberley Walsh spilling out of the latest hotspot at 3am. The down-to-earth singer (and business brains of the group) tells Liz Jones why she craves a ‘normal’ life
Kimberley Walsh is describing the moment she needed the loo halfway up Mount Kilimanjaro and the guide had to help out. ‘My hands were so cold I couldn’t pull up my pants properly, so he had to help me. By then I was past caring.’ Was this the hardest challenge she has ever faced? Trekking up a mountain, not being able to go to the loo in private, suffering from the cold and altitude sickness? ‘You can’t get any harsher than that, but we did it. It was amazing. Before we went I had insomnia with the worry. And that’s not like me.’ What kept her going on a trek that, in the end, raised £3.4 million for Comic Relief? ‘It was Cheryl. Read full article. |
